About AI Mom Lab
Hey, I'm Nova, a Director and Product Owner by day within fintech and cybersecurity space.
And a mom by night.
For the last 11 years I've built the software that banks use to decide who gets approved and who gets flagged. Credit decisions. Fraud checks. AI agents making judgment calls at scale. Billions of transactions per second, the under the hood of how YOUR credentials get evaluated in a black box in underwriting. Yes, that's real, and yes, I built pieces of it and the system that each bank tweaks and controls the logic and decisions of.
I started this blog because I kept explaining the same things to friends over coffee. How credit scores actually move. Why an app just declined a credit limit increase, or why someone with a 750 score just got denied for a card while job hunting. What's really happening when an AI agent makes a money decision about you in a fraction of a second.
Most advice out there comes from people who've never seen inside these systems, or from AI that's guessing along with everyone else. I come with receipts. I spent my career in the room where this stuff gets brainstormed, built, and shipped, and now I'm home negotiating bedtime and what's for dinner.
I hope I can hand you a few truths most people never get to see, so the black box feels a little less like a haunted house. I'm not here to gatekeep. Consider me your mole in the system, minus the trench coat.
