How I Set Up Affiliate Marketing in One Afternoon in 2025 with the help of AI

My honest, step-by-step story for other (moms too) who want to make money online with AI.

How I Set Up Affiliate Marketing in One Afternoon (Without Traffic, Tech, or Confusion)

My honest, step-by-step story for other moms who want to make money online with AI

“Is this even going to work if I have no followers?”

That was my first thought the moment I Googled “how to make money with affiliate marketing.”

As a mom trying to grow a brand, run a blog, and raise a human (hi, bedtime battles), I wasn’t looking for another “6-figure passive income funnel.” I just wanted a realistic way to start earning online using tools I already use and love.

And I found it: affiliate marketing. But not the scammy kind.

This is the real stuff partnering with trusted companies, recommending tools you actually believe in, and getting paid every time someone clicks and signs up through your unique link.

Today, I’m walking you through exactly how I set up my first 5 affiliate accounts in one afternoon even with no huge audience or tech skills.

Affiliate Marketing in In Simple Terms

It’s like this:

  • You recommend something an app, a tool, a product.
  • You share a special link (called an affiliate link).
  • If someone buys or signs up through your link, you earn a commission.

That’s it. No need to create a product, hold inventory, or chase customers.

And if you’re already blogging, posting, or sharing your favorite tools with friends you’re halfway there.

Why I Chose to Start Affiliate Marketing

I already had:

  • A blog (aimomlab.com), where I write about AI tools, finance, and productivity for finance hacks and busy moms
  • A small YouTube channel
  • A bunch of AI and finance tools I actually use and love

So I thought: why not get paid for sharing them?

I didn’t wait for 10,000 followers or perfect branding - I just started. That's the biggest hurdle these days - just do it.

✅ Step-by-Step: Took one Afternoon to Set it all up (and that's without an AI Agent)

Step 1: I Wrote a Simple Bio (With help of ChatGPT)

Every affiliate platform asks:

  • Who are you?
  • What’s your content about?
  • How will you promote links?

I asked ChatGPT:

“Write a short affiliate bio for a blogger who focuses on AI tools, personal finance, and productivity tips for moms.”

And just like that, I had a ready-to-paste 150-word paragraph that I reused across every platform.

Time spent: 2 minutes
Stress level: 0

Here's my ChatGPT output:

Affiliate Program Bio (Short Version - ~120 words):

Hi! I’m the creator behind AI Mom Lab, a blog and YouTube channel dedicated to helping moms use AI tools to simplify life, improve productivity, and make smarter financial decisions. My content focuses on easy-to-use tech, trying various AI tools in optimizing personal finance strategies, and time-saving solutions that fit into real family life.

I regularly share product recommendations, tutorials, and honest reviews with my growing audience of moms, creators, and side hustlers. I’m excited to partner with brands that align with my mission to help women work smarter—not harder—using modern tools.

I plan to promote affiliate links naturally through blog posts, email newsletters, Pinterest pins, and YouTube videos that focus on tutorials, comparisons, and solution-driven content.

Then...

Step 2: I Made a Google Sheet to Stay Organized

Affiliate marketing can quickly become a hot mess if you’re not tracking:

  • What you signed up for
  • Which links you’re approved for
  • Commission %
  • Login info
  • Notes (like when to promote, blog post ideas)

Time spent: 10 minutes
Mom hack: Open it in your phone’s Google Sheets app and update as you go.

Step 3: I Signed Up for My First 5 Affiliate Networks

1. Amazon Associates (probably the easiest)

2. Impact.com (second choice)

  • Takes 1–2 days for full approval (more like 2+)
  • High-paying programs like Rocket Money, Chime, Empower - really big bang for your time
  • Great for finance, AI, SaaS, productivity tools
  • mpact.com

3. ShareASale (Still debating this one)

  • Approved in hours
  • Found programs like YNAB, Fiverr, Tailwind
  • Good variety for bloggers, they are OK.
  • shareasale.com

4. CJ Affiliate (I really don't like this one, super annoying to apply)

  • Manual approval (~1 day)
  • Offers brands like Norton, Intuit, Skillshare - these are most inline for SaaS and software. I have yet to evaluate deeper.
  • Ideal for finance or tech content
  • cj.com

5. PartnerStack (I'm a beginner on this one)

  • Instantly approved for some tools
  • Promotes SaaS and AI tools like Writesonic, Notion AI
  • Great for tech and creator tools, i'm a fan.
  • partnerstack.com

Step 4: I Got My First Affiliate Links

Once I was approved, I:

  • Found one product or tool I already use
  • Copied my referral link
  • Added it to my blog. I still need to add to YouTube descriptions but that's coming up with my new content on my channel.

Pro tip: Make a “Resources I Love” page on your blog with your top 5 affiliate links.
That’s your passive income hub. I'm adding this today and will track how quickly it monetizes.

Step 5: I Created My First Affiliate Blog Post (With ChatGPT)

“Write a 500-word blog post recommending YNAB vs Rocket Money for budgeting. Make it natural, helpful, and mom-friendly. Include pros, cons, and a call-to-action.”

I tweaked the tone to sound like me, added affiliate links, read through it and edited and hit publish.

Total time: 40 minutes

Step 6: I Tracked My Progress in One Dashboard

I used my Google Sheet to log:

  • Which links I used
  • Which blog or video they’re in (it can get quite crazy if you don't stay organized
  • Clicks - that's one for me to keep an idea of stats 7 days in, 14, 30 days and 3 months in.
  • Earnings which are manually updated 1x a month.

πŸ’‘ ***Bonus: How AI Helped Me Save Hours

Task Tool I Used
Writing bios + blog posts ChatGPT
Creating Pinterest pins Canva with Magic Write
Planning content ideas Notion AI
Filling forms quickly Magical Chrome extension
Tracking links + programs Google Sheets + ChatGPT

πŸ’¬ What Surprised Me Most

  • You don’t need a huge following to start
  • The apps you already use likely have affiliate programs
  • The AI + affiliate combo saves so much time
  • Making your first $1 online feels like a million

πŸ’° What's Next? Monetizing Smarter (Not Harder)

I plan to:

  • Create a content calendar tied to affiliate promos
  • Add affiliate links to older posts and Youtube channel descriptions
  • Watch how it all plays out - when you are starting out everything is trial an error and looking at data of what actually works and how quickly.

πŸ’¬ Aaaand Final Thoughts: If You’re On the Fence…

You don’t need to be an expert.
You don’t need 10,000 followers.
You just need to START. Start now.

Affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme—but it is one of the most beginner-friendly ways to earn real income online.

And if you want help setting yours up, comment on my latest YouTube video or message me—I’ll send you everything I use.

Why We Ditched GoDaddy (and What Moms Should Know About DNS, Hosting, and Financial Control in 2025)

Why We Ditched GoDaddy (and What Moms Should Know About DNS, Hosting, and Financial Control in 2025) At The AI Mom Lab , I'm all about using smart tech to make life easier and more financially empowered — and that includes how we build and host our websites. This year, I decided to ditch GoDaddy’s default DNS setup. Why? Because their limitations were slowing us down — and in some cases, costing us money and stability. If you're building digital income streams or launching a content site, here's why it's time to rethink how (and where) your domain lives. 🚫 The GoDaddy Problem I registered our domain aimomlab.com through GoDaddy, thinking it would be a straightforward experience. But when tried to connect it to our Google Blogger site , I hit wall after wall: They only allowed 1 A record (Blogger needs 4 for stability) They tried to upsell us on Premium DNS ($50/year) The site broke every time we tried to configure it correctly Support gave con...

Is AdSense really too much work for your return on time and investment?

Is AdSense really too much work for your return on time and investment?  How much can you make with AdSense? I haven't made a single dollar yet after 3 months of trying to get AdSense Approvals. Here's why: Really, is it worth it - is the juice worth the squeeze on this effort.  Maybe. I'm here to explore some of the pros, the cons and the detrimental journey they make you hoop through before you get to any monetization or even making $1. Then you can decide if it's worth it for yourself.  I started off three months ago thinking this is all going to be easy with the help of AI. I'll use ChatGPT, Perplexity and some other at this point commonly known tools. But I was wrong. First it was easy to come up with a few articles. I created 36 in my first month which was enough to apply. I figured it's unlikely I'd get approved the first time around, but I was still hopeful.  Then the rejection came and I was a bit surprised - what I was flagged for was not only low ...

πŸš€ What You’re NOT Doing to Monetize and Grow Massive Views on YouTube

πŸš€ Brah.. What You’re NOT Doing to Monetize and Grow Massive Views on YouTube If you're stuck under 1,000 subscribers or your views flatlined you are not alone.. I'm here to tell you it's hard as hell and takes HOURS of 'joy'. Aka slaving away at your monitor. Most creators unknowingly skip powerful strategies that signal YouTube's algorithm, attract the right audience, and drive exponential growth. Let's uncover what top creators and Reddit power users know (but rarely say out loud). πŸ“ˆ 1. Forget Subs: Focus on Returning Viewers YouTube doesn't reward subscriber count the way it used to. One of the highest-impact metrics is returning viewers . “YouTube tracks how often someone comes back to your channel. If they return within 7 days, it tells the algorithm you’re addictive.” – u/turn0search2 How to use this: Build mini-series or recurring formats. For example, instead of random one-off videos, do “Money Mondays” or “Frugal Friday Hacks.” En...
